My first exposure to Meditation was in 2004 when I enrolled in a 10 week Introduction to Meditation course. Like most people I did the course, felt the benefits of the newly found skills but never really put them to practice. Meditation took a backseat as life continued on. After several years I found myself again “staring at the cushion”. I recall attending a seminar where I learned about our potential to live a healthy and empowered life and something clicked, the search for more answers began. I tried everything I could get my hands on including Meditation, Yoga, Shamanism, Taoism, Men’s work, Ecstatic Dance, Tantra, Vipassana and Breathwork / Rebirthing…to name a few.
In 2011 I decided to commit myself to serious study by enrolling in two courses: Meditation Teacher Training and Holistic Counselling respectively. These courses helped bring together a lot of the knowledge and experience I gathered over the previous years and gave me the concrete skills to help others on their journey.
In 2013 on the verge of starting a private Counselling and Meditation practice I decided to leave everything and head overseas on a one way trip to India, as you do! This would turn out to be my biggest learning adventure to date.
Since making that fateful decision I’ve travelled the world, completed Yoga Teacher Training, settled in a new country, learned a new language, got married and had a child! I’ve maintained my personal Meditation, Mindfulness and Yoga practice and continued to learn new and effective ways to live an authentic and fulfilling life.
