Experience teaches us that no matter how hard we try sometimes things don’t go as planned. Despite this knowledge, it can still be difficult to accept that we cannot control everything in our lives. How much control do we actually have? In reality, our sphere of control is smaller than we think.
Focus on what you can control, accept that which you cannot.
We can’t control what happens to us but we can control how we respond to it. We have the choice to accept and learn from the situation or resist and be trapped by it. By accepting our current situation, as pleasant or painful as it may be, we release it and allow space for a new experience to emerge. This process requires that we become present with what is instead of distracted by what should have been. Our point of power is always in the present moment, not the unknown future or the unchangeable past.
We become who we are.
